Building your best tender response – Free Brisbane workshop for business

The Department of Finance is hosting a free, face-to-face workshop - ‘Building your best tender response’. The workshop is designed to help businesses strengthen their tender responses to Australian Government procurements.

This practical session will provide tips on how to develop clear, competitive and compliant tender submissions, along with common pitfalls and how to avoid them.

Digital ID and CDR: Proven to reduce the oversharing of renters’ personal information

The Australian Government has worked with industry to complete a trial to test the use of Digital ID and the Consumer Data Right (CDR) in rental applications, showing that it can work.

Digital ID gives people the option to verify their identity without sharing copies of their ID documents. CDR allows people to prove they can afford the rent.

This demonstrated way of using Digital ID and CDR could save time and money for real estate agents, whilst improving privacy and cybersecurity for renters.

Rita Sung: Making a real impact in the Finance Graduate Program

What does meaningful work look like in the Finance Graduate Program? For Rita Sung, it meant contributing to a Bill introduced to Parliament.

During her first rotation in the Regulatory Law Reform team, Rita played a key role in developing the Bill – leading one of its measures, engaging with stakeholders, and preparing briefing materials and presentations for senior leaders.

This hands-on experience gave Rita insight into how policy is shaped in practice, from collaboration and stakeholder engagement through to supporting senior decision-making and progressing legislation.

AI Week 2026: Exploring practical applications of artificial intelligence at Finance

AI Week 2026 brought together staff from across the Department of Finance to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can support everyday work in practical, responsible and effective ways. Held from 15 to 19 June, the week provided an opportunity to build capability, share experiences and strengthen understanding of how AI is being applied across the department.
