Australian Science Policy Fellows

The Australian Science Policy Fellowship Program is run by the Office of the Chief Scientist. It gives scientists the opportunity to work in an Australian Government department for up to one year.

The program helps build a more diverse Australian Public Service workforce. You can apply if you are an early and mid-career scientist with up to 15 years of experience after your PhD.

The program supports you to build strong policy skills and move into policy roles. You also gain a clear understanding of policy processes that you can take back to your academic career.

During the fellowship year, you and your manager can receive mentoring from Australia’s Chief Scientist, Professor Tony Haymet.
