Managing risk and internal accountability

The accountable authority of a Commonwealth entity must establish and maintain an appropriate system of risk oversight and management for the entity, and an appropriate system of internal control for the entity to ensure public resources they are responsible for are properly managed.

The PGPA Act provides flexibility to establish those systems and to create an operating environment that supports the proper use and management of public resources, while applying the minimum controls required to achieve the entity’s outcomes without stifling innovation.
