CRC Communique 13 March 2025

The Commonwealth Risk Committee (the CRC) met on the 13 March 2025 via Microsoft Teams to discuss the following matters: 

Emerging and Common Risks 2025

The Commonwealth Risk Committee (CRC) members shared their entity’s current and emerging risks as identified in the 2025 Comcover Risk Management Benchmarking Survey. Five key common risks were identified which will be presented to the COO Committee to seek their advice on where the CRC should focus its efforts.

Evaluation Implementation

The Committee endorsed the final implementation update on the outcomes of the CRC’s first evaluation and noted the upcoming development of a CRC webpage that will be hosted on the Department of Finance’s website.

2025 Commonwealth Risk Committee Forward Workplan

The Committee endorsed the proposed 2025 Commonwealth Risk Committee Forward Workplan and recognised its alignment with the key common current and emerging risks discussed earlier in the meeting.

NACC’s Open Letter on Election Risk

The Committee considered the recent open letter published by the National Anti-Corruption Commission regarding corruption risks and vulnerabilities in the context of an election.

Deep Dive into Trust in Government

The Committee undertook the second of three in-depth analyses on the growing impact of mistrust in Government. Members discussed common key issues with regulation and proposed possible management and mitigation measures.

The next Commonwealth Risk Committee meeting is scheduled for 19 June 2025.
