Commonwealth procurement and contract management training suite

The Department of Finance has created new eLearning courses as part of the Commonwealth Procurement and Contract Management Training Suite.

  • Exercising Procurement Delegations: Provides a high-level overview of the procurement framework for non-SES procurement delegates. It expands on the roles and responsibilities of procurement delegates when making decisions and approving procurement activities.
  • Debriefing in Procurement: Outlines the benefits, principles, and best practices associated with debriefing. It also addresses common challenges and pitfalls, and provides practical guidance on planning, conducting, and documenting debriefings.

Additionally, two new sections have been incorporated into the Suite to facilitate easier navigation and access to relevant procurement courses within APSLearn.

  • Environmentally Sustainable Procurement. Developed by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, these three eLearning modules support sustainable decision-making in procurement that benefits the environment.
  • Modern Slavery in Public Procurement. Developed by the Attorney-General's Department, these three eLearning modules explain the concept of modern slavery and provide strategies for agencies to implement ethical procurement practices and address modern slavery risks within government operations and supply chains.

Who should do these courses

APS officials who are new to procurement, may need a refresher, or who want to move to a role in procurement. The courses benefit officials working in procurement on an ad hoc basis, regular procurers, and delegates.
