The Net Zero in Government Operations (NZGO) Strategy outlines the practical actions required to deliver the Australian Government's election commitment of achieving net zero emissions in government operations by 2030.
To support capability uplift across the APS in implementation of the NZGO Strategy, Finance has developed a suite of education courses as part of the Climate Action in Government Operations Program on APSLearn. The courses will assist participants in understanding climate change concepts and the NZGO Strategy, its importance, and its implementation.
Courses currently available on APSLearn include:
- Foundations of Net Zero in Government Operations: Presents a foundational understanding of climate science topics and the NZGO Strategy to enable implementation of the targets.
- Net Zero Buildings: Introduces the building targets included in the NZGO Strategy, with a particular focus on buildings terminology and tools and actions to meet these targets.
- Introduction to Commonwealth Climate Disclosure: Promotes a greater understanding of the Commonwealth Climate Disclosure initiative and climate risk management more broadly.
- Net Zero Energy: Further develops concepts outlined in the Energy Chapter of the NZGO Strategy by exploring energy terminology, and tools and actions to meet the targets.
