Finance is continuing to expand the Climate Action in Government Operations education program – a suite of e-learning courses designed to enhance climate literacy across the Australian Public Service (APS) and support the transition to net zero within government operations.
Two new courses have recently been added to the program:
- Emissions Reduction Planning: Understand Emissions Reduction Plan requirements for APS entities, including how to create and update an Emissions Reduction Plan.
- Commonwealth Climate Disclosure: The Requirements: Understand the different tranches and core requirements of Commonwealth Climate Disclosure and how to prepare a draft disclosure and annual updates. The course expands on the “Introduction to Commonwealth Climate Disclosure” course.
The program also includes:
- Foundations of Net Zero in Government Operations: Gain a foundational understanding of climate science topics and the NZGO Strategy to enable implementation of the targets.
- Net Zero Buildings: Discover buildings terminology, tools and actions to meet building targets included in the NZGO Strategy.
- Introduction to Commonwealth Climate Disclosure: Develop an understanding of the Commonwealth Climate Disclosure initiative and climate risk management.
- Net Zero Energy: Explore energy terminology, tools and actions to meet the energy targets outlined in the NZGO Strategy.
- Foundations of Net Zero Emissions Reporting: Learn about reporting terminology and actions outlined in the Emissions Reporting Framework.
- Net Zero Procurement: Gain an understanding of procurement principles, terminology and concepts, as well as the actions required to meet the NZGO Strategy targets and measures.
