The Department of Finance has published its 2025-26 Climate Disclosure following the Year 2 Reporting Provisions. The disclosure outlines our approach to managing climate-related risks and opportunities, the actions we are taking, and our progress towards the APS Net Zero 2030 Target.
During 2025-26, Finance continued to support climate action across the Australian Public Service through:
- work on the APS Net Zero 2030 Target
- emissions reporting
- Commonwealth Climate Disclosure initiative
- renewable electricity procurement
- low-emission vehicles.
Finance also progressed emissions reduction initiatives across our own operations, including our Finance owned and leased estates, and expanding the COMCAR electric vehicle fleet. Finance is committed to reducing emissions from its operations by 2030 in line with the APS Net Zero 2030 Target. The disclosure also outlines our ongoing work to strengthen climate risk management, build capability, improve emissions data and support transparent reporting.
