Fleet composition of leased and owned vehicles
As at 30 September 2026, the Commonwealth fleet profile has an indicative asset value of $1,150m across 29,283 vehicles. Of these, 26.1% of assets were leased assets and 73.9% were owned assets.
Fleet profile by asset classification
The fleet arrangement includes a range of asset types, such as vehicles and equipment used for commercial purposes. Passenger vehicles account for 17.0% of the current Commonwealth fleet, including both leased and owned assets.

Passenger low emission vehicles
As at 30 September 2026, 27.0% of passenger vehicles (including SUVs) were either battery electric vehicles or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The Commonwealth fleet has 662 plug-in hybrid and 432 battery electric passenger vehicles.
