Fleet composition of leased and owned vehicles
As at 30 June 2026, the Commonwealth fleet profile has an indicative asset value of $985m across 27,318 vehicles. Of these, 22.4% of assets were leased assets and 77.6% were owned assets.

Fleet profile by asset classification
The fleet arrangement includes a range of asset types, such as vehicles and equipment used for commercial purposes. Passenger vehicles account for 17.1% of the current Commonwealth fleet, including both leased and owned assets.

Passenger low emission vehicles
As at 30 June 2026, 23.5% of passenger vehicles (including SUVs) were either battery electric vehicles or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The Commonwealth fleet has 712 plug-in hybrid and 386 battery electric passenger vehicles.
