NHMRC’s Embryo Research Licensing Committee regulates research involving human embryos, including the use of excess assisted reproductive technology (or IVF) embryos, the creation and/or use of human embryos created through processes other than fertilisation, and the practice of permitted mitochondrial donation techniques.
Research Involving Human Embryos Act 2002 (RIHE Act) and the Prohibition of Human Cloning for Reproduction Act 2002
Researchers who conduct research involving human embryos and/or permitted mitochondrial donation techniques as defined in the RIHE Act.
