AFSA is an executive agency in the Attorney-General’s portfolio which manages the application of personal insolvency and personal property securities laws. AFSA administers bankruptcies and other personal insolvency arrangements, regulates bankruptcy trustees and debt agreement administrators, and maintains the Personal Property Securities Register. AFSA also has functions under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
