The Department of Finance has released our Corporate Plan 2026–27, outlining our strategic direction through to 2029–30.
The plan sets out how Finance will deliver on our purpose, respond to emerging challenges and maintain the systems that support public administration.
Our priorities include:
- supporting delivery of the Budget, economic updates and the government’s fiscal strategy, including expenditure advice across government;
- building APS capability to support the safe, responsible and coordinated adoption of artificial intelligence;
- strengthening resource, financial management, procurement and regulatory frameworks to improve efficiency and reduce administrative burden; and
- progressing major initiatives, including the Data and Digital Government Strategy, Digital ID, the National Security Office Precinct and Defence estate reforms.
Internally, Finance will respond to the Capability Review, update governance arrangements, continue the transition to an upgraded Enterprise Resource Planning environment, and invest in capability, technology and data to support a diverse, inclusive and high-performing workplace.
