Join free in-person training sessions in Sydney this May, choose a fast, virtual learning sprint with Procurement Capability Week in June, or apply for the immersive Pathways to Procurement program in Canberra from late July.

Free contract management and risk training in Sydney this May 

We are hosting two in-person courses on 5 and 6 May at Rydges Sydney Central.

​These courses are part of the Commonwealth Procurement and Contract Management Training Suite and are free of charge.

​Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just beginning your journey in procurement and contract management, these sessions will elevate your skills as you gain valuable insights into contract management best practices and procurement risk – tailored specifically for the public sector.

Procurement Capability Week 

​Procurement Capability Week is a virtual professional development program consisting of 10 live courses from the Commonwealth Procurement and Contract Management Training Suite, delivered online.

The program is designed to help APS officials build practical skills in procurement and contract management.

​The program is free for officials from non-corporate Commonwealth entities and prescribed corporate Commonwealth entities.

​The program runs from 15 to 25 June – featuring one 2-3 hour session each afternoon.

Benefits of participating:

  • ​Gain essential knowledge and skills in a focused, short timeframe. 
  • ​Maintain momentum and reinforce learning by attending all sessions together. 
  • ​Participate virtually, reducing the need for travel and minimising disruption.
  • ​Build connections and share experiences with peers across the APS.
  • ​Apply new skills and knowledge directly to your work.

​Pathways to Procurement 

​The Pathways to Procurement (PtP) program is designed to enhance procurement and contract management (PCM) capabilities across the APS.

​The program runs for 8 weeks, from 27 July to 22 September 2026, and requires participants to attend training two days per week. All training sessions are delivered in-person in Canberra.

​The program is free for officials from non-corporate Commonwealth entities and prescribed corporate Commonwealth entities.

Benefits of participating:

​Participant requirements: 

  • ​Moving into a PCM role or have been in a PCM role for less than 12 months. 
  • ​Employed by a Commonwealth entity that is subject to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules. 
  • ​Committed to building PCM capability over an eight-week period. 
  • ​Can attend all 16 days of the program, in-person in Canberra. 
  • ​Have manager approval to attend.
