Finance staff support Indigenous literacy through annual book sale

Finance staff have raised $1,350 for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) through this year's Indigenous Literacy Day book sale, demonstrating the department's ongoing commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and Communities.

Hosted by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff Network (ATSISN) and Friends of ATSISN, the book sale brought staff together to celebrate the joy of reading, share stories and support improved literacy outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

The event encouraged staff to donate pre-loved books, purchase a new read and contribute to an important cause.

Funds raised support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, helping provide books and literacy resources that empower children to learn, thrive, and stay connected to their culture and language.

Unsold books will be donated to Lifeline Canberra for its Bookfair, ensuring even more people can benefit from the community's generosity.
