Under the revitalisation of National Competition Policy, the Department of Finance and Treasury are seeking feedback from interested parties to understand the feasibility of a national approach to worker screening in the care and support sector.
A consultation paper has been prepared to support submissions. This paper provides an overview of the current reform environment to address safety issues, information sharing, and labour mobility across jurisdictions and sectors.
The paper presents options to improve quality and safety for care recipients, increase job mobility for care workers, reduce costs for care providers and improve government services.
