Finance is seeking feedback on draft findings and recommendations for the Statutory Review of the Data Availability and Transparency Act 2022 (DAT Act).
The DAT Act is focused on increasing the availability and use of Australian Government data to deliver government services that will:
- be simple, effective and respectful
- inform better government policies and programs
- support world-leading research and development.
The review will consider how effective the DAT Act is and if it has improved public sector data availability, shareability, and transparency. The review received 63 public submissions on an initial issues paper that was released in April 2025.
For more information and to make your submission, visit the Statutory Review of the Data Availability and Transparency Act 2022 page.
Submissions are welcomed from members of the public until midnight 8 August 2025.
