About the Conference
The Department of Finance is hosting the biannual Commonwealth Procurement and Contract Management Conference on 1 September 2026 in Canberra.
As the Commonwealth’s premier procurement capability event, the Conference plays an important role in advancing procurement and contract management capability across the Australian Public Service.
This one-day, in-person event will focus on integrity, artificial intelligence, market engagement, supplier perspectives, complex contract management and ICT contract management best practice.
The Conference will provide participants with opportunities to:
- gain practical insights from government and industry leaders
- explore real-world case studies
- connect with colleagues across the APS.

The Conference will close with a celebration of the commitment to excellence in procurement and contract management across the APS.
The Commonwealth Procurement and Contract Management Awards for Excellence help to promote the role procurement plays in delivering services and outcomes for government, citizens, and the business community.
The aim of the Awards is to recognise the professionalism and capability of procurement and contract management professionals in the Australian Public Service, showcase effective engagement with the business community, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in procurement.
This year’s Award categories are:

- Collaboration and Engagement with Industry
- APS Leader in Procurement and/or Contract Management.
