Comcover Insurance & Risk Management
Comcover is the Australian Government's general insurance fund and provides insurance and risk management services to Australian Government Departments and agencies.
Comcover's key business objectives are to:
- Promote best practice risk management in agencies to improve policy formulation and delivery of Government programs and services, so as to deliver a net benefit to the Budget over the long term: and
- Provide a comprehensive insurance fund to protect Government agencies against the impact of insurable loses.
This website provides Fund Members with details on Comcover's full ranges of services as well as information on insurance, risk management. The site also provides additional resources to assist insurance and risk managers.

Comcover Training 2012
The schedule for 2012 Insurance and Risk Management training is now available. To find out more about Comcover courses, including who should attend, what skills can be gained, and how best to prepare for your course. It is important to remember that these courses also give you an opportunity to educate others in your agency on the principles of good risk management, and the importance of insurance.
Based on feedback from the 2011 Comcover survey results and following the successful delivery of recent training in Melbourne, we are looking to conduct a Risk Management Fundamentals course in Melbourne and Sydney in May/June. Due to the recent floods in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, Comcover Member Services (CMS) is contacting Departments and Agencies in order to provide all possible assistance to ensure property, business interruption and motor vehicle claims are processed as efficiently and effectively as the exceptional circumstances allow. Information is being prepared as required and released through Advice Circulars which are sent to Fund Member agency contacts. Please refer to the following links for copies of these Advice Circulars.
