Robert Cornall AO

Robert Cornall was born in Melbourne.  He attended Wesley College, then studied for a Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 1968.

After 15 years as a partner in a Melbourne law firm, Mr Cornall was Executive Director and Secretary of the Law Institute of Victoria from 1987 to 1995, Managing Director of Victoria Legal Aid from 1995 to 2000, and Secretary of the Australian Attorney-General's Department from 2000 to 2008.

Following his resignation from that position, Mr Cornall has undertaken numerous consultancies and other appointments for the Australian Government.

In January 2006, Mr Cornall was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for service to the community in developing public policy.
