Sustainable Government Finaances

Outcome 1—Sustainable Government Finances

Finance's Budget Group is responsible for contributing to the outcome of sustainable government finances. The Group supports the Government in the preparation and ongoing management of the Commonwealth Budget and provides advice on major expenditure priorities and accounting policy.

Through Budget Group, Finance also maintains the central accounting and budget estimates system for the Commonwealth and produces monthly general government sector financial statements as well as annual consolidated whole-of-government financial statements.
