National Park

On 1 August 2010, the Commonwealth Government announced that approximately 70 hectares of additional national park and conservation reserve will be created at Malabar Headland.

Lot 102 was transferred to the State of NSW for use as national park on 2 March 2012 and was officially gazetted by the NSW Government as the Malabar Headland National Park in December 2012 (17.7 hectares).

A Process Agreement was signed in February 2011 to identify the processes to be undertaken to facilitate the transfer of Lot 202 to the State of NSW.  Lot 202 (approximately 70 hectares), the eastern section of the headland, was remediated in 2012 to national park standards.
