The Government Enterprise Resource Planning (GovERP) is a common ERP platform, comprising a number of essential corporate capabilities to deliver back-office services, including financial, human resources and procurement services and reporting.

The core of GovERP is based on the contemporary SAP S/4 HANA technology, and will also include complementary (edge) solutions to supplement core systems capabilities. Other suitable standard technologies for small and medium agencies are expected to be provided by GovERP in the future.

The 2021-22 Budget provided funding for Services Australia to design, build and operate the GovERP platform and onboard the SDO and 14 of its client agencies as the first use case. The Department of Finance retains the strategic policy and governance functions for the Shared Services Program, as well as the SDO which delivers shared corporate services to its client agencies.

Other business cases for the further adoption of GovERP by additional agencies are being developed by relevant agencies.

The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources is working closely with the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, The Treasury and the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment in developing a joint first and second pass business case for the adoption of TechnologyOne and Aurion technologies for small and medium agencies.
