Comcover Risk Management Benchmarking Program

Comcover plays a key role in promoting better practice risk management across the Commonwealth. This supports the objectives of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy.

The Risk Management Benchmarking Program is a key element of Comcover’s risk management services. The Benchmarking Program assesses the maturity of an entity’s risk framework against the nine elements of the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy, using a risk maturity model and survey. Findings from the survey can be used to inform how successfully risk management has been integrated into business operations and to assist in identifying areas for improvement and prioritising risk management activities.

Entities are able to access prior years Benchmarking results through an online portal called the Comcover Launchpad.

Annually, entities receive an executive report that analyses their current risk management capability against comparable entities and the fund as a whole. These reports are available to entities via the Comcover Launchpad.

The Benchmarking Interactive Reporting Tool (BIRT) is also available via the Comcover Launchpad for entities to further analyse their results. At the end of each year a key findings report is published, this report provides the high-level findings across all participating entities.
