Hi all

I am very pleased to announce the launch of the SourceIT Plus model contract (SourceIT Plus). It provides standard contractual terms and conditions suitable for semi-complex procurements of IT services, such as system integration, consultancy services, software development and managed services.

SourceIT Plus replaces the Government Information Technology and Communications (GITC) contracting framework. The rebranding and update of the GITC contracting framework into SourceIT Plus is designed to make procurements quicker and simpler for Commonwealth entities and industry alike. It establishes a standard set of contracting terms and it enhances familiarity with the way Commonwealth entities contract IT services.

SourceIT Plus is designed to complement the existing SourceIT model contract suite for simple procurement and assist Commonwealth entities in developing sound commercial agreements efficiently and effectively.

Following feedback from industry and Commonwealth entities, Finance elected to replace the document building function of the GITC, instead opting for a static document format for SourceIT Plus. That said, should there be demand, Finance is open to investigating the option of incorporating an up-to-date document builder. Your comments on this would be particularly useful.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took the time to provide their feedback and comments as part of my previous blog post, especially those Commonwealth entities that participated in piloting the SourceIT Plus documents.

Industry and Commonwealth entities provided 146 comments to Finance and 56 of the comments were incorporated into SourceIT Plus. To address the remaining comments, Finance will either develop guidance for Commonwealth entities or consider them as part of a future review.

SourceIT Plus and its accompanying user notes are now available for download here: SourceIT Plus

Regards

John
