Three new Cloud Computing procurement codes have today been added to the goods and services categorisation system on AusTender, the Commonwealth Government’s procurement information system www.tenders.gov.au.

Commonwealth Government agencies will apply the new codes to their Cloud-based Planned Procurements (PPs), open Approaches to Market (ATMs), Standing Offer Notices (SONs), and Contract Notices (CNs), as they are published on AusTender.

The application of the codes, Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Infrastructure as a Service, will support better analysis on the uptake of Cloud and Cloud-like computing services by agencies, in the context of the Australian Government Cloud Computing Policy July 2013.

Registered AusTender users may now add the keyword ‘Cloud’ to their self-defined business profile to be notified of matched planned procurements and business opportunities as they are released to the market.

The AusTender codeset, a subset of the United Nations Standard Products and Services Code (UNSPSC), is available from data.gov.au.

Further information and assistance is available from the AusTender Help Desk on 1300 651 698 and tenders@finance.gov.au.
