Hello,

Thank you to everyone who came to the Industry Briefing today. We had a great turnout. :-)

I invite companies interested in delivering an Industry Presentation to register on AusTender (login required). Registration closes on 22 November 2011. No late registrations will be accepted due to our tight time frame.

Full questions and answers from today’s briefing will be published here on the blog.

The slides I used today are attached.

Cheers
Kayelle

Update #2: Industry Briefing Questions and Answers (14/11/11, 5:10PM AEDT)

1. What will be the composition of the Agency Reference Committee (ARC) which Industry will present to?

Senior ICT representatives from both large and small Commonwealth agencies have been invited to participate. Representatives will be consistent and we have asked for a minimum three days commitment to the ARC. The same representative will be required from agencies for each presentation.

2. What indicative schedule are you working to for a Request for Tender (RFT) and when can we expect contracts to be awarded?

The Industry Consultations will be concluded before Christmas. We will then work on a Statement of Requirements in anticipation of releasing an RFT. The more people who apply for the tender, the longer it will take to evaluate.  If you have 20 responses, you know that will take about 3-4 months depending on how technical the evaluation is.  If you have 50+, or it is more complex, it will take longer. The large number of attendees here today is an indication of the high levels of interest I expect in any market approach.

3. Would it be ok to publish the company names present today?

I’m happy to do this if the majority are happy to do that. The majority of people say yes, so we will make the list of attendees available here on the blog.

4. Are you looking to establish a Panel, to which, work orders will be received?

Please expect a panel and expect the per unit price to be set. We are looking to use the Commonwealth as one purchaser with the same pricing for larger or smaller agencies.

5. Will the agency requirements affect the pricing model?

Vendors might like to consider bronze, silver or gold type pricing to cater for differing requirements and service levels. If a large and a small Agency both choose bronze level services, the unit prices would be the same. Conversely, if a small Agency chooses bronze and a large Agency chooses gold, the large agency will pay more for gold. We anticipate pricing being based on a per user or per device basis. We are happy to pay more if we use more but we want to pay for services as we use them.

Hi Roy

I anticipate posting more information about DCaaS later this month. We are just preparing some documents to further explain the proposal now.

Thanks for your interest,

Cheers

John

Dear AGIMO

I notice that since all the presentation days there has been no more correspondence from yourselves regarding the DCaaS RFI. Please can you advise what are the next steps and when can we expect to hear about these.

Many Thanks.
