Web Accessibility National Transition Strategy

2010 Baseline Report

Publication Summary

Understanding the size and infrastructure complexities of the Australian Government's web environment is fundamental to assessing the capability of the government to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.0. The Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) conducted a survey of agency progress through the Preparation Phase of the Web Accessibility National Transition Strategy (NTS) in the first quarter of 2011. While indicating clear progress, analysis of the findings highlights that agencies are yet to fully identify the extent of effort required to complete their WCAG 2.0 implementation. The results provide the first comprehensive data set of agency websites and provide a baseline for measurement of progress against the Government's objective of improving online access for all Australians.
