Occupational Health and Safety
During 2007–2008 the following Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) related services were provided to support MOP(S) Act employees nationally:
- An annual influenza vaccination program, which continues to be made available to MOP(S) Act employees;
- Regular awareness raising on OH&S issues through induction and office management training;
- Continued provision of eyesight testing for MOP(S) Act employees who work with screen based equipment, and partial reimbursement of the cost of any lenses required for screen based work;
- Access to a professional counselling service to assist with work or personal issues through an Employee Assistance Program; and
- A continued commitment to improving workplace health and safety with the engagement of Konekt Australia Pty Ltd for the provision of OH&S services, including workstation ergonomic assessments and occupational rehabilitation services.
There were two incidents notified to Comcare during 2007–2008, involving two MOP(S) Act employees in total. These incidents were later deemed non work–related.
