Prime Minister’s Letter

In a letter to the Special Minister of State dated 17 December 2007, the Prime Minister made the following determination:

‘Section 13 - Officeholders may employ staff

Under subsection 13(2) of the MOP(S) Act, I determine that the power of office-holders to employ persons as member of their staff is subject to the following conditions:

• people shall only be employed in the positions allocated by me; and
• salaries and conditions for positions at the level of Special Adviser and above shall be determined by you.’
