DIRECTION TO DEFER THE TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT

I, GARY NAIRN, Special Minister of State, for and on behalf of the Prime Minister, direct under subsection 23(4) of the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 (the Act) that:

1. Where the employment of an electorate employee in the office of the Hon John Anderson MP, Member for Gwydir (the Employee) is terminated under subsection 23(1) of the Act, the employment of the Employee is deemed not to have terminated and to continue, or to have continued, until the day before polling day in the Federal election; and
2. Direction 2007/31 does not apply to the Employee.
