Finance Circular 2006/06

Australian Government Foreign Exchange Risk Management Guidelines

Purpose

This circular introduces revised guidance on the Australian Government's foreign exchange risk management policy. The revised guidance is more pragmatic and incorporates revised reporting requirements which come into effect on 1 July 2006.

This Finance Circular replaces Finance Circular 2004/11, which provided guidance regarding unwinding hedging arrangements under the foreign exchange risk management policy, and Finance Circular 2002/01, which announced the introduction of the foreign exchange risk management policy. The guidance contained in these Finance Circulars is now incorporated into the revised Financial Management Guidance No.2 Australian Government Foreign Exchange Risk Management Guidelines.
