Office of Evaluation and Audit (Indigenous Programs) [OEA]
The OEA evaluates and audits relevant Australian Government programs that aim to further the social, economic or cultural development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The OEA is established under part 4B of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act 2005. In 2008-09, the OEA finalised three evaluations and eight performance audits of relevant Australian Government programs as well as three audits of funded organisations. There were five evaluations and seven performance audits in progress at 30 June 2009, in line with the OEA work program. Seven of these evaluations and audits will be completed and reported in the first quarter of 2009-10. In accordance with its legislation, the OEA has finalised its 2009-2012 work program.
