the video of a Future Leaders programmeme participantHi,
I'm one of the participants in Finance's Future Leaders programme that was launched
in 2000–01. The programme aims to develop the leadership capabilities
of all those involved. Participants are asked to take ownership of their
development. We learn with the support of a mentor, each other and programme facilitators. Everyone
on the programme takes part in a comprehensive survey of their staff, peers and
supervisors, which is designed to help determine the best mix of development requirements
for those on the programme. All participants are matched with senior management
mentors from within Finance but outside their work area, who help them work through
work-related and development issues. Seminars and workshops are provided
on a range of leadership and development issues. They're delivered by leading
practitioners from Australia and overseas. We can also pursue further formal
study. Members of the programme work in small teams on action learning projects
that are presented to senior management. The programme is great and I look
forward to my continued involvement.
