Since 199798 the Department of Finance and Administration
(Finance) has made its annual report available online. The format has changed
each year as our website has developed. To assist users the following guidance
on how to use the 200001 online annual report and get the most out of it

ContentFinance's
Annual Report 2000-01 has been prepared on a full accrual based outcomes-outputs
structure. It has been prepared in accordance with the Requirements for Departmental
Annual Reports, as approved by the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and
Audit. The text of the online version is the same text as is found in the printed
version, which was tabled in Parliament on 29 October 2001. The report
consists of eight chapters covering the range of Finance's activities in 2000-01.

2 - an overview of the Department and the Portfolio.

5, detail Finance's performance for 2000-01 against the
Department's three key outcomes:
- sustainable
Government finances (Chapter 3);

Also included
in the report are appendices, financial statements and a glossary. Reading
the report onlineText Boxes Throughout the chapters of the
online annual report there are pop up text boxes. These contain either explanations
of technical issues used in the report or provide further information on certain
topics. There is also a text only version for accessibility reasons. To
open text boxes click on the link, which is shown as orange text. To close, click
on the close window graphic or in the text only version use the back button on
your browser. Links Throughout the chapters of the report links
have been provided to further information. These links either provide access to
other pages within the Department's website or to external pages. After you have
accessed the link use the back button on your browser to return to the Finance
Annual Report 2000-01. Download and Printing The report is available
for download in two formats as a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in Microsoft
Word format. Follow the instructions on the download page for accessing these
two versions. It is suggested that either of these versions is used if you want
to print the report in full or part. Financials The audited financial
statements for the year ending 30 June 2001 are available in either PDF or Microsoft
Word format. Both versions of the financial statements contain embedded links
to the notes. This allows users to move quickly and easily between the financial
statements and notes without the need to scroll down or open new documents. Use
the back arrow on the Adobe Acrobat Reader to return to the financial statement
from the notes. Appendices Each of the appendices is available
in both PDF and Microsoft Word format. Videos The 2000-01 report
contains four video presentations. To access the videos follow the link and the
instructions for accessing the videos via Windows Media Player. Please note that
not all users will be able to access the videos, as a result the text from each
video has also been provided. Accessibility The Department has
followed the accessibility guidelines in designing the online 2000-01 annual report.
