Applying for AGTA Signatory Status
Overview
As stated on the page 'AGTA Service Providers', under AGTA, a provider of telecommunications carriage services (as defined in the Telecommunications Act 1997) must sign an AGTA Head Agreement with the Commonwealth (containing standard terms and conditions) before they can provide such services to Australian Government agencies. Also, it is preferred that a provider of other telecommunications related goods and services to such agencies do so in accordance with an AGTA Head Agreement between the provider and the Commonwealth
A head agreement template is available for potential applicants to review.
Application process and timing
Generally, the entire application process will take approximately six weeks, but this will depend on the time it takes to complete some of the steps below. During this time the following sequence of events must take place:

The head agreements must also be accompanied by all schedules, particularly the Schedule 5. The Schedule 5 is to be filled out by the telecommunications service provider and provide details on the relevant operating and pricing details on each of the services that the telecommunications service provider wishes to provide to the Australian Government.
