ICT Skills
Overview
AGIMO is researching and developing programmes to improve the attraction, recruitment and retention rates of ICT professional employees within the Australian Public Service.
AGIMO has released an ICT Professional and Skills Development Taskforce Report, Meeting the Demand for ICT Skills in the Australian Public Service - Today and for the Future, which outlines several priority recommendations.
In response to the recommendations the following programmes have been implemented:
- Australian Public Service ICT Apprenticeship Program
- Women in IT Executive Mentoring (WITEM) Program
- Australian Public Service ICT Cadetship Program
- Marketing ICT careers to secondary and tertiary students at major career and ICT industry events eg CeBIT Australia and Canberra Careers Market.
