National Service Improvement Framework
Overview
Government is continuously striving to improve and provide seamless service delivery to citizens.
The National Service Improvement Framework aims to facilitate projects requiring collaboration within and between government at all levels.
The National Service Improvement Framework website provides a knowledge base that will assist Local, State/Territory and Australian government departments and agencies in the effective implementation of cross-jurisdictional projects.
The key objectives of the National Service Improvement Framework are:
- Increasing citizen satisfaction in dealing with Government;
- To improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Government; and
- Building the capacity for cross-jurisdictional collaboration.

National Services Improvement Program Team
The National Service Improvement Program team is funded by the Online and Communication Council. The team is located within the Australian Government Department of Finance and Deregulation and is responsible for further developing and implementing the Framework. The NSIP helps to identify and facilitate collaborative service projects, and acts as the first point of contact for potential projects.

In July 2002, the New South Wales Office of Information and Communications Technology initiated an Interoperability Program to develop, maintain and implement an Interoperability Framework.
