National Service Improvement Framework
The provision of services that might require action by more than one government agency in such a way that they appear to be a single service.
Overview
The Government is committed to maximising the opportunities provided by information and communications technology. Collaborative service delivery is one way in which these opportunities can be maximised.
Services that require action by more than one government agency, in one or more jurisdictions, and are presented to a customer in such a way that they seem to be a single transaction can be delivered through improved collaboration between government agencies. These services may occur in real time, or may take a longer period of time, but from the customer point of view, they are required to deal with only one government agency (point of access) to successfully complete the transaction.
The Cross-Jursidictional Interoperability Working Group (CJIWG - reporting to the Cross-Jurisdictional Chief Information Officers' Committee) is currently funding the National Service Improvement Program. The aim of the project is to continue development of and implement the National Service Improvement Framework [
- 117 KB] (the Framework).
The Framework provides a five-tiered approach for government agencies to follow in agreeing the arrangements necessary to enable collaborative service delivery. The Framework provides the basis to effectively collaborate across technical, business, legal, financial and governance areas.
Further details about activities underway to facilitate collaborative service delivery are available from the National Service Improvement Program Team, AGIMO.
