Identity Management for Australian Government Employees (IMAGE)
The Identity Management for Australian Government Employees Framework (IMAGE) is an integrated, better practice approach for identity management of Australian Government employees and contractors. It provides a standardised set of identity management practices across the Australian Government.
The 2006 e-Government Strategy, Responsive Government: A New Service Agenda, committed to implementing a secure identity management framework by 2008. IMAGE was created for this purpose, to be complemented by individual agency identity management initiatives and related Australian Government programs and policies.
In April 2007, the Secretaries Committee on ICT (SCICT) agreed that, for now, the scope of the IMAGE project will not be expanded beyond the development of a better practice framework based around the existing guidelines released in June 2006.
