ICT Better Practice & Collaboration

The Department of Finance and Deregulation, through the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO), facilitates information sharing and improved access to government information and services through a range of e-government initiatives in collaboration with Australian Government agencies.

Initiatives include:

e-Government Awards
A range of awards relating to aspects of e-government have been established in Australia and overseas.

Better Practice Checklists & Guides
The Better Practice Checklists and Guides have been created to help executives, business managers, web managers and others improve their understanding of a range of issues associated with the provision of services online.

e-Government Events & Seminars
Seminars, information forums and other events are held regularly for government staff responsible for online service delivery.

e-Government Case Studies
Case studies of the finalists of the Australian Government e-Award are published annually and provide an insight into the award-winning initiatives from all levels of government.

e-Government Examples
Examples of Australian Government initiatives which demonstrate better practice in e-government

Communities of Practice
Communities of Practice assist practitioners across government to share expertise and build knowledge.

Email Discussion Lists
AGIMO hosts email discussion lists for Australian Government employees to communicate, collaborate and share information.

GovDex
GovDex is an Australian Government initiative to facilitate business process collaboration across portfolios, administrative jurisdictions and agencies.

Principles for ICT-enabled Citizen Engagement
The Principles are intended to guide agencies considering engaging with citizens using information and communication technology (ICT).
