Excellence in eGovernment Award (e-Award) 2010
The Excellence in eGovernment Award (e-Award) was introduced in 2006 by the Australian Government to promote excellence in the use of ICT in Australia at all levels of government. The e-Award recognises the most outstanding initiatives in eGovernment that have been implemented in the past two years, based on the positive impact they have had on the lives of Australian citizens, the community and business. In 2010 the e-Awards were expanded to include categories across a number of ICT disciplines and to recognise outstanding achievement by an individual, or team in any discipline.
Also introduced this year; The ICT Professional of the Year Award is the recognition of outstanding achievement by a team or an individual in any ICT discipline. It was one of a suite of recommendations aimed at enhancing the management of the Australian Public Service (APS) ICT skills base. The Review of the Australian Government’s use of Information and Communication Technology recommended the sponsorship of annual awards to recognise outstanding professionalism by a team or an individual working in ICT in the Australian Public Service arena.
Presentations to the winners was made at an ICT Celebration Dinner on Wednesday, 25 May 2010.
