Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority - Electronic Application and Registration System Online Version 2
The Electronic Application and Registration System (EARS Online v2) offers industry the opportunity to electronically submit and monitor applications for the registration of agricultural and veterinary chemicals. This system was developed by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA), and streamlines the application process, creating efficiencies for both business and the APVMA. EARS Online fosters transparency by providing applicants with a means to view the progress of all their applications. This has led to internal efficiencies as the number of enquiries regarding the progress of applications has significantly reduced.
Commonwealth Grants Commission - Asynchronous Distributed Calculation System
The Asynchronous Distributed Calculation System(ADICAS) is a generic calculation system that has delivered calculation speeds over 40 times faster than previous systems by using the idle processing power of the Commission's networked machines. ADICAS uses an asynchronous distributed architecture to speed up the processing of large amounts of calculations. It uses the idle processing power of the Commission’s networked machines to execute discreet calculations concurrently to achieve significant speed gains. The distributed nature of the system has positive implications for scalability - the more machines on the local area network, the faster numbers will be calculated.
Community Services New South Wales - Wellnet Development
Wellnet is a new application that has been designed and built to facilitate the sharing of child wellbeing information between departments and Community Services. Staff of Child Wellbeing Units (CWUs) use Wellnet to record events and to determine whether other departments have had involvement with the same clients, thereby fostering collaboration about the safety and wellbeing of children. The application allows children at risk of harm to be supported outside of the statutory child protection system, by providing CWU staff from other departments with indicators regarding the past history of a child.
Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs - Community Development Employment Projects Manager
In December 2008 the Australian Government announced significant reforms to the Community Development Employment Projects (CDEP) program. The reforms formed part of the overall reforms to employment servicing for Indigenous Australians. The reforms changed the participation and income arrangements for CDEP participants, required joint servicing arrangements with other service providers, interactive interfaces across a range of IT applications, and new program rules for providers. These required a new IT system. CDEP Manager is the redevelopment of the ICT system supporting the CDEP program, and manages 15,000 participants and processes 1000 or more outcome claims each month.
Department of Human Services - Geo-demographic Interactive Simulation Tool
The Geo-demographic Interactive Simulation Tool (GIST) is a user-friendly web-based geospatial analytics tool, which integrates spatially enabled data from multiple sources in an accessible format for non-technical users. Spatial information can be discovered, explored, and visualised through 4 main tools, mapping, profile, charting and query. GIST is designed to enhance the way Government approaches evidence based policy making by providing spatially enabled administrative data directly to policy makers. GIST is currently deployed to over 300 users across 23 Commonwealth Government departments and agencies through a secure web based environment.
Gosford City Council - Gosford Electronic Mapping System
The Gosford Electronic Mapping System (GEMS) is an interactive web mapping application that is free to the public. The system allows anyone to locate and obtain information such as Planning Zones, Dog off leash Areas, Bushfire Prone Areas, Aerial Photography, Vegetation, Land Development Constraints, Sea Level Rise, property information (Lot/Plan) and also the ability to search on addresses/suburbs. This system takes advantage of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) where users can superimpose various "layers" of data to visually see the effects. The system provides 24/7 access to information which was previously only available during business hours by phone or in person.
Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory - Daily on Demand Service
Daily on Demand provides searchable online audiovisual replays of Assembly proceedings. It places the Assembly at the forefront of world legislatures in making parliamentary proceedings more relevant and accessible in a timely, contemporary and convenient way. Unlike real-time internet web-streaming, Daily on Demand draws on an expanding database of Assembly proceedings to provide an archive that can be searched by subject, member’s name and date and time of debate. Users enter one or more of these criteria for an almost instantaneous audiovisual replay of the selected proceedings.
