Central Budget Management System (CBMS) Redevelopment
The Department is redeveloping the Central Budget Management System (CBMS), on behalf of the Australian Government. The redeveloped CBMS will ensure the Government meets its program of reforms (Operation Sunlight) to enhance financial accountability and transparency. The key driver for the Project was the Governments need to be more responsive with fiscal policy to meet challenges in a changing economic environment. The system is designed to be flexible and reliable and will capture data at the more detailed ‘program’ level.The redevelopment Project was established in 2008 and has now reached a level of maturity, where requirements have been identified, software and services have been procured, stakeholders are aware of the Project and preparing their Organisations, People, Processes, Technology and Data.
