Estimates
Estimates are updated by agencies, in consultation with the Department of Finance and Deregulation, three times per year:
- in October as the basis for the preparation of the Mid-year Economic and Fiscal Outlook
- in early February, to provide the Government with up to date estimates prior to the budget deliberations of the Expenditure Review Committee
- in April as the basis for the preparation of the annual Budget.
The Department of Finance and Deregulation consolidates agencies’ estimates to construct the estimates for the Australian Government general government sector.
