Short-term Interim Guidelines on Information and Advertising Campaigns by Australian Government Departments and Agencies

The Australian Government introduced the Short-term Interim Guidelines on Information and Advertising Campaigns by Australian Government Departments and Agencies in November 2013. The Guidelines have been updated to reflect the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013. These Guidelines are in effect until 31 January 2015. From 1 February 2015, the Guidelines on Information and Advertising Campaigns by non-corporate Commonwealth entities apply.

The Guidelines provide a framework for the conduct of all publicly funded advertising and information campaigns.

The Department of Finance (Finance) is responsible for supporting the administration of the Guidelines. Commonwealth entities should engage the Communications Advice Branch of Finance early in the development of campaigns to ensure that relevant requirements are met.
