Independent Review of Government Advertising Arrangements
Dr Allan Hawke, a public servant of more than 30 years, including appointments as Secretary of the Department of Veterans' Affairs, the Department of Transport and Regional Services and the Department of Defence, was appointed to conduct an Independent Review of Government Advertising Arrangements (Hawke Report) in early 2010. His report and the Government response were released on 31 March 2010.

From 31 March 2010, revised Guidelines on Information and Advertising Campaigns will apply to all Australian Government departments and agencies subject to the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997:
