Competitive Remuneration at Finance
By undertaking a review of salary bands each year, Finance ensures our salaries are competitive with the wider APS as well as market competitors. Finance offers competitive salaries to ensure we are able to attract the best people to our portfolio.
How often will my Remuneration be reviewed in Finance?
Finance conducts a remuneration review annually.
Executive Board determines the parameters of the review and any across-the-board increase that will be applied. Information about the review process is published on the Finance intranet site each year and is provided directly to staff through brochures and staff forums.
Does Finance have an Executive Vehicle Scheme?
SES employees have access to the Executive Vehicle Scheme (EVS). SES employees are able to either choose a car or take a cash-in-lieu option.
The value of the benefit is $25,000 (GST exclusive) per annum (irrespective of the SES employee’s level within Finance). EVS vehicles must be made reasonably available for official use during business hours.
A substantive SES officer may elect to take the $25,000 vehicle entitlement as cash, in lieu of an EVS vehicle. The cash-in-lieu amount will be paid in equal fortnightly instalments.
Does Finance have Salary Sacrifice provisions?
Yes. Salary Sacrificing in Finance is available through our service provider "SmartSalary Pty Limited" (SmartSalary). Some items that may be sacrificed include superannuation, laptops and motor vehicles. A fee is charged to employee’s using this service.
Employees who only want to salary sacrifice for superannuation can also do so through ROSS, our outsourced payroll provider. There is no fee for this service.
Can I be reimbursed for professional membership?
With General Manager approval, Finance will reimburse an employee up to $750 per financial year to cover the costs associated with professional memberships or subscriptions directly related to their role.
Does Finance have formal study arrangements?
Under Finance's Study Assistance Policy, employees who undertake approved formal study may have access to support in the form of financial assistance (up to $7,500 per annum), and / or study leave of up to six hours per week.
Finance offers employees who are undertaking approved study, additional leave to allow them to attend classes and complete assessments. Approval for an employee to receive Study Leave of up to six hours a week will be determined by the General Manager of each Business Group.
