An overview of working at Finance
Finance provides competitive salaries with annual increases, generous leave and flexible working conditions (such flex-time, part time work and working from home). All staff must meet minimum security requirements ('Baseline' level clearance) prior to commencement at Finance.
The Department of Finance Corporate Plan 2015–16 is fundamental in setting the strategic direction of the department, particularly as we aspire to be a modern, agile, responsive and connected public service agency. The Plan also sets out how we will recognise our success. Key to the Plan is our aspiration statement:
Leading the public sector in delivering excellence and value in the business of government.
Finance has a strong focus on continued professional development and commitment to a diverse, healthy and supportive workplace, as well as initiatives such as corporate social responsibility.
Finance is centrally located in Canberra (parts of Finance are located in State and Territory offices). A range of on-site facilities benefit staff to balance their work and personal needs, including childcare, library, Carer's and Mothers rooms, and health and fitness facilities.
Finance is a consultative workplace with a representative Staff Consultative Group, and strong professional networks including an active Social Club, Women's Network, and CPA Chapter.
