Chief Executive’s Instructions
Model Chief Executive’s Instructions (CEIs)
The Model CEIs have been developed by the Department of Finance and Deregulation in consultation with FMA Act agencies. They cover the core topics that are applicable to the majority of officials in most agencies under the FMA Act. As a tool, the Model CEIs seek to improve consistency across agencies and help all staff members to understand and comply with the key requirements of the financial management framework.
The Model CEIs are made up of eleven CEIs and a glossary. The eleven core topics covered by the Model CEIs relate to the proper use and management of public money, public property and other resources of the Commonwealth. The Model CEIs are not designed to be prescriptive or exhaustive, as individual agency requirements may differ and CEIs should be tailored to meet these requirements.
The Model CEIs should be used in conjunction with Finance Circular 2011/05: Chief Executive’s Instructions (CEIs).
Finance Circular 2011/05: Chief Executive’s Instructions
This circular provides guidance on the development and operation of CEIs, which form a key part of an agency’s internal controls and operational framework. This circular also provides guidance on the adoption of the Model CEIs.
